How old are you?
Level A1 · Unit 2: Numbers and things · Lesson 2: Up to 100, and your age
In Slovenian you are a certain number of years old, and star ("old") agrees with the person:
- Koliko si star? How old are you? (to a man)
- Koliko si stara? How old are you? (to a woman)
- Koliko ste stari? How old are you? (formal)
Answer with star / stara sem + the number + let:
- Star sem trideset let. I'm thirty. (a man)
- Stara sem petindvajset let. I'm twenty-five. (a woman)
In casual conversation, the number alone is enough: Dvaindvajset.
