Questions and answers
Is Slovenim really free?
Yes. All 80 lessons, the audio, the grammar reference, the quizzes and the flashcards are free, with no time limit and no card needed. The only paid extra is the optional speaking tutor, which records your voice and checks your pronunciation.
What level will I reach?
The course takes you from your first words (A1) to everyday conversations (B1) in 16 units. Each lesson unlocks the next, and a short placement test lets you skip what you already know.
Do I need to know English?
No. The whole course, explanations and exercises included, is available in English, Russian and Ukrainian. Choose your language at the top of the page.
Will it help with the official Slovenian exam?
The course covers levels A1 to B1, the levels of the public exams in Slovenian as a second or foreign language, and their everyday topics. At the end of each level (A1, A2 and B1) you can sit a free practice exam in the official format. Slovenim doesn't issue certificates: the exams themselves are taken at an official exam centre.
How much time do I need?
A lesson takes about 15 minutes. You choose a daily goal, and the flashcards bring words back just before you'd forget them, so a little every day goes a long way.
Can I learn on my phone?
Yes. Slovenim works in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install, and your progress follows you from one device to another.
