bi + the l-participle
Level A2 · Unit 12: He and she · Lesson 2: Would you…? The conditional
Bi never changes. The participle shows who, just as in the past:
- Jaz bi šel. / Jaz bi šla. I would go.
- Mi bi šli. We would go.
- Kaj bi naredil? What would you do?
- Negative: ne bi: Ne bi šel. I wouldn't go.
Bi is one of the short words in second place, and it goes first in the group, before se and pronouns:
- Rad bi se učil. I'd like to study.
- Dal bi ti ga. I'd give it to you.
