Making the imperative
Level A2 · Unit 12: He and she · Lesson 4: Hurry up! The imperative
Start from the present-tense "I" form and drop -m:
- -am verbs add -j: delam → delaj!, počakam → počakaj!
- Other verbs swap the ending for -i: govorim → govori!, pišem → piši!, pokličem → pokliči!
- -jem verbs keep just the -j: pijem → pij!, obujem → obuj!
Then add endings for other people: vi (and polite) -te, mi ("let's") -mo, midva ("let's", two people) -va.
