Se + a verb describes how things are generally done, like the English passive:
- Kako se naredijo žganci? How are žganci made?
- Žganci se kuhajo pol ure. Žganci are cooked for half an hour.
- Moka se strese v vodo. The flour is poured into the water.
The verb agrees with the thing being made: žganci is plural, so naredijo.
Quantities take the genitive: liter vode, štiristo gramov moke, ščepec soli (a pinch of salt).
