What colour is it?

Ask Kakšne barve je …? It literally means "of what colour is …?". Barve is the genitive of barva, so learn it as a set phrase. The answer agrees with the thing:
- Kakšne barve je majica? Modra.
- Kakšne barve je avto? Bel.
- Kakšne barve je jabolko? Zeleno.
After imam, iščem and vzamem (the accusative), feminine colours end in -o: Iščem modro majico. Vzamem rdečo. Masculine things don't change: Vzamem siv pulover.
