Spotting the gender

Look at the last letter of the noun in its dictionary form:
| Gender | Usually ends in | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| masculine | a consonant | hotel, čaj, fant, brat |
| feminine | -a | hiša, kava, sestra, voda |
| neuter | -o or -e | mesto, okno, morje |
