The verb biti (to be)
Level A1 · Unit 1: Hello! · Lesson 5: To be: sem, si, je…
Because every form of biti is different, the pronoun is usually left out: Sem Ana. "I'm Ana." Use the pronoun only for emphasis or contrast: Jaz sem iz Kopra, on je iz Celja.
